This section gives a summary of contracted work I've completed over the last few years, along with client feedback where available.

Electoral Commission (2023)

The Electoral Commission is responsible for running and overseeing New Zealand's general elections.I worked with the Commission to develop a customer contact forecasting methodology and practice, assist in delivery of a ten year view for their contacy centres, and run lessons learned sessions with internal teams and key suppliers after the general election.

LGNZ (2023)

LGNZ is a membership body for Aotearoa’s local government organisations. This requires a wide remit, and LGNZ regularly has large numbers of concurrent projects running.I was engaged to design a project management and governance framework, including processes, templates and training material. I ran sessions with key stakeholders, full company change management sessions, and governance sessions with the Senior Leadership Team.

InterIslander (2023)

InterIslander had commissioned two new ferries to replace aging existing boats.I was engaged to interview exsiting staff and develop a ConOps (Concept of Operations) which provides a high level view of how all aspects of the new ferries would operate.The development and delivery of this document spanned all areas of InterIslander operations.

NZQA (2022)

NZQA has an aging, business critical, core system.I worked with technology consultancy Fingo, teams from across NZQA's business and the NZQA Strategic Leadership Team to develop a replacement strategy.Following the acceptance of the strategy, I wrote a business case seeking funding from the NZQA Board, which has since been approved.

NGCC (2022)

NGCC is a branded business unit of NZ Police, focusing on replacing communications equipment for NZ's emergency services.I wrote an implementation business case seeking over $1b in funding. This document was endorsed by four different emegency services, as well as being reviewed by Te Tai Ōhanga - The Treasury, before being submitted to and approved by Cabinet.

Mobi (2021)

I worked with teams from across Mobi's business to:

  • Standardise and streamline the Integration Team's core processes

  • Restructured the Engineering Team into agile squads

  • Create a professional services business unit function and hire teams in Canada and New Zealand,

  • Oversaw four international implementations for enterprise clients, and actively supporting sales to two more (including designing delivery strategies and presenting to clients).

Ministry of Health (2019-20)

I wrote the business case for new national immunisation system, supported Data & Digital COVID response.I also designed and led the support function of the NZ COVID Tracer app through it's launch period, where over a million users joined in the first week.

Ministry of Justice (2018-19)

Completed financial model and business cases for for ECM project and a new Judicial Intranet.

Taeaomanino Trust (2017)

Created a model of care communications framework to enable social services built on a Pacific worldview, rather than a Western one.

NZTA (2017)

Validated strategic design framework using 10&10 customer research method.

Xero (2013-16)

I developed and delivered a customer support model, strategy and technology platform helping to take the company from 50,000 customers to over a million. Project managed the delivery of the Salesforce ServiceCloud platform and migration from previous homegrown CRM solution.

Easily designs and hosts small websites for small business.

Micro-learning platform which provides bite-sized courses.

GoBoard - goboard.co.nz - 2016

I designed, built, and nearly kickstarted a mobile whiteboard. Small enough to be carry-on, big enough for a team stand up. Read more here.

Sphaera (2022)

Sphaera provides salon quality plastic free hair care and soap products.My role has been providing advice around business strategy, unit economics and revenue modelling.

Angel HQ (2020-current)

Angel HQ is Wellington's angel investment club, providing support and investment to growing New Zealand businesses.I'm an investor and board member.

S-Gun (2015 - current)

S-Gun is a pneumatic circuitry developer who have redesigned the nail gun compression system.I'm an investor and company director.

Hnry (2019 - current)

Hnry is removing the complexity from self employment by automating taxes and insurance.I'm an early stage investor.

Caribbean Technology Entrepreneurship Programme (2017)

I wrote and delivered the Customer Relationship Management stream for this World Bank sponsored incubator.

Business case writing workshop (2017)

I facilitated a business case writing workshop for a group of senior scientists from Ministry for Primary Industries.

Literacy Aotearoa Wellington (2009 - 2015)

LAW delivered adult literacy and numeracy services in Wellington for over 20 years.I was a volunteer tutor, board member for six years, and board chair for three years.
